WHAT
IS
SOMATIC PSYCHOLOGY
The body holds what the mind can’t yet say.
Most of us were taught that healing happens from the neck up — that if we think clearly enough, understand ourselves well enough, we’ll eventually feel better. But the body keeps its own account. Stress, trauma, and the quiet weight of unlived life all leave a physical trace.
Somatic psychology works with that trace directly. Not by analysing symptoms, but by learning to read what the body is actually communicating — and then responding in a way the whole nervous system can receive.
This is clinical work. It is also profoundly practical. People leave sessions with more than insight — they leave with a different relationship to themselves.
WHO COMES TO WORK WITH ME
People who know something is off
You are good at what you do. You’re articulate about your experience. But there’s a gap between what you understand and how you actually feel — and you’re tired of it.
Leaders under sustained pressure
You are a successful leader. Yet the cost is less visible. You want to lead from a place of genuine authority rather than managed anxiety.
People navigating trauma
Whether recent or long-held, trauma lives in the body before it lives anywhere else. Somatic work meets it there, gently and precisely.
Those at a
turning point
Something has ended, or is about to begin. You want to enter the next chapter with more of yourself available.
FROM THE BOOK
‘Your body is not the problem. It is the most honest thing about you.’
I have been a registered psychologist for over twenty years, working across private practice, community development, and organisational wellbeing in Australia, Kenya, and India.
My approach draws on somatic therapy, Family Constellations, and movement-based practice. Sessions are held online. People come from across the world.
What I am interested in is not the management of symptoms but the restoration of a person’s relationship with themselves.
